 CCTLD (Country Code Top Level Domain) domains are determined according to ISO 3166 standard and signify the state in which the domain is registered. For the territory of Serbia, CCTLD domain is .rs (.yu domain was in use until March, 2008). As with registration GTLD and territorial TLD domain, it is necessary to check whether the domain name is free. Registration of national .Rs domains can be made by domestic and foreign legal and natural persons, and one person can register more than one domain. All .es domains can be registered for the period from 1 to 10 years, with possibility of extension. As the domain registration is done in 12 months, so is the extension of registration. The extension of registration of domain is possible during its lasting, but the total lasting cannot be longer than 10 years. Note:- Administrative contact is a person, citizen of the Republic of Serbia, or a legal person inhabited in the Republic of Serbia, authorized, in the name of the person who registers the domain, to perform administrative tasks and data change related to the registration of domain
- Technical contact is a person, or legal person, authorized in the name of the person who registers the domain, to make a change of technical data related to the registration of the domain.
A domain name, in the frame of .rs register, can be a sign series of 1-30 characters in length. Names are using a subset of Latin-1 (USA) set of characters, and that: letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9) and hyphen (-). A domain name must not begin nor end with hyphens (-). Small and capital letters are, according to the standards, completely equal. Extension of registration of the existing .yu domains
If the current .yu domain is not extended, it will stop functioning on 3 March 2009. It is possible to renew the domain in the period from 3 November 2008 to 2 March 2009, when the domain is to continue to last until 30 September 2009 regardless of the date when the extension has been performed. Domains that are not extended in that period, including subsequent period for the extension, which is planned for a period from 3 March 2009 to 30 April 2009, stop existing on 4 May 2009. |
